After being called to the Bar, Anthony practiced with a Vancouver law firm, focusing primarily on personal injury law. In 2000, he joined Bernie Simpson, of Simpson & Company. The firm has since carried on its practice under the name Simpson Thomas & Associates. Anthony is the Managing Partner. The firm restricts its practice to serving injured victims of motor vehicle accidents.

Professional Experience

Anthony has vast experience handling large and complex personal injury claims, including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, serious orthopaedic injury, psychiatric/psychological injury and severe whiplash and soft tissue injury-related disorders. He has excellent communication and negotiation skills and takes great pride in always doing his utmost to get the best possible results for his clients. He has attended countless mediations on behalf of his clients, where he has successfully negotiated very large settlements and generous compensation packages.

Anthony has extensive courtroom experience, having appeared at the Provincial Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal levels. He has enjoyed considerable success in trial, having won a number of significant damage awards and liability disputes on behalf of his clients.


Anthony earned his undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia in 1985. He attended the University of Victoria Law School and graduated with his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1989. His academic achievements at UVic included being awarded the Davis & Company Prize in Administrative Law. He was called to the Bar in 1990.

Memberships and Associations

Anthony is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia (TLABC), the Vancouver Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association. He has also been a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association. Anthony regularly attends seminars and conferences put on by the TLABC and Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia (CLE) in order to stay current on topics pertaining to personal injury law. He has also lectured at TLABC and CLE seminars, presenting papers on issues relevant to the firm’s practice.


In his spare time, Anthony plays hockey, skis, and pursues other fitness and outdoor activities. He is happily married and has two daughters.
