1. Does your law firm have experience dealing with ICBC Personal Injury claims?

Simpson Thomas only acts for people injured in car accidents in BC. The law firm you choose should never have to decide between their loyalty to you and to ICBC.
4. Are you a Trial Lawyer?
You will want to settle your claim fairly, but if ICBC is being unreasonable then you will want an experienced BC Trial Lawyer to take your case to court. Every lawyer at Simpson Thomas is a Trial Lawyer and a member of Trial Lawyers of British Columbia.
5. How long has your firm been practicing law in the Greater Vancouver area?

6. Do I need to pay you a retainer (money in advance) before you will take on my personal injury claim?
At Simpson Thomas, you do not have to pay for disbursements (costs of bringing the claim) or our fees until we have recovered money for you.
7. What will I have to pay if your firm does not collect anything from ICBC?
Simpson Thomas will not charge you any fees if we are unable to collect on your claim. In addition, you will not have to pay us back for any disbursements paid on your behalf. This point is extremely important and could potentially save you literally thousands of dollars.
8. Will I have to pay more the longer my claim continues?
Check to see if the firm has an escalating fee structure which can increase up to one third of your claim if it goes to court. At Simpson Thomas our fee is a percentage of the amount recovered and that percentage will never increase even if your case goes to trial.
9. I speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Hindi, French, Spanish, Italian, or Korean. Can your law firm communicate with me in my own language?
