Stephen C.M. Yung
Stephen Yung obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997 at the University of Victoria. After spending a year in Chicago studying American law, he returned to Canada where he obtained his law degree in Halifax at Dalhousie University in 2001. Since being called to the bar in 2002, Steve Yung has been representing people injured in motor vehicle accidents.
Before joining Simpson Thomas & Associates, Steve was an associate at a downtown Vancouver firm practicing civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury claims. His practice also included commercial litigation, family law, income tax, employment law, and contractual disputes.
A skilled negotiator, Steve uses his previous experiences to effectively resolve his clients’ claims whether through settlement, mediation or at trial. He is experienced with virtually all types of personal injury claims, including soft tissue injuries, broken bones, head injuries, spinal cord injuries, chronic pain, psychological and family compensation claims. He represents people of all different backgrounds. Steve recognizes the stress and pain his clients face both emotionally and physically, and is very sensitive to their individual concerns and needs.
With his varied experience in commercial litigation, Steve understands small businesses. His background in employment law also enables him to assist his clients with employment issues that may arise when they are unable to work due to the injuries from the motor vehicle accidents.
Steve has trial experience at all levels of court in British Columbia including the Court of Appeal. He is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association.
Steve lives in Vancouver and is happily married. He enjoys playing hockey, curling and kayaking in his spare time.
