Bios
Charles Jago
Charles obtained a Bachelor of Law (Co-op) degree from the University of Victoria in 2005. While at law school, he completed work terms with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner, the Office of Attorney General and Worker's Compensation Appeal Tribunal (WCAT). He completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario, where he distinguished himself by earning the gold medal in his double-major honours program of English and Philosophy. He completed a Master of Arts degree at McMaster University and was a doctoral candidate at the University of British Columbia studying literature and literary theory before pursuing a legal career.
Prior to obtaining his law degree, Charles also worked as an ESL teacher in Seoul, South Korea. When not teaching, he studied Korean and enjoyed Korea's rich culture and vibrant lifestyle. Charles continues to work on improving his conversational Korean.
Charles was called to the bar in Prince George, B.C. and worked there at a leading regional law firm until moving to the lower mainland in November 2007 to focus on practicing personal injury law.
Charles is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association. He has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia on a variety of matters. He has practiced in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defence, insurance defence and personal injury law. His experience working both for defendants and plaintiffs in motor vehicle lawsuits has given valuable insights into effective case management and litigation strategies.
He lives in New Westminster, B.C. with his wife and child.
